Mayor of Anamosa

The Mayor is the presiding officer of the Council and serves a two-year term. The Mayor is not a member of the Council and shall not vote as a member of the Council, except that, the Mayor may vote to break a tie on motions not involving ordinances or resolutions (due to the even number of permanent Council seats established by the Anamosa Code of Ordinances). The Mayor may also veto an ordinance, amendment, or resolution (within 14 days after passage), unless the Mayor was entitled to vote on such measure at the time of passage.
