Anamosa, Iowa is nestled near the Wapsipinicon River in Jones County.  Anamosa is the Jones County Seat. Anamosa has a population of 5,533.

Anamosa is home to one of the most beautiful state parks along the Wapsipinicon River.

Anamosa offers an abundance of recreation opportunities including walking, fishing, golfing, skating and biking by way of our many beautiful community parks and the Wapsi River.

Our community is adorned with wonderful architecture, which homeowners and shopkeepers take pride in keeping beautiful.

Enjoy our annual Anamosa Pumpkinfest, which is held the first Saturday in October.


Open Burning Restrictions:

Located in Chapter 105.06 of the Anamosa City Code. Open burning is prohibited except with specific exceptions.

City Hall is now open to the public. Please call (319) 462-6055 to schedule an appointment. We will take walk-ups so long as they do not conflict with existing appointments.

At this time, we ask that you wear a face mask while inside City Hall. Please continue to follow the advice of public health professionals such as the Iowa Department of Public Health, Centers for Disease Control, and the World Health Organization.

City Council meetings will continue to be held electronically at this time.

Online Utility Bill Payment

You will need to click the 'register now' button when you use the site for the first time. To set up your account you will need your utility account number and the name on the account. Old Dubuque Road Extension

The City of Anamosa is working to extend Old Dubuque Road North to the commercial park, as well as, providing connectivity across the east and west portions of the City. The project plan can be viewed by clicking on the link below.

TSIP Funding Application Submittal: August 15, 2020

RISE Funding Application Submittal: September 1, 2020

Phase 1 - Anticipated Grading / Drainage Project Letting Date: November 16, 2021

Phase 1 - Grading / Drainage Project Construction: 2022

Phase 2 - Anticipated Paving / Bridge Project Letting: Fall, 2022

Phase 2 - Paving / Bridge Project Construction: 2023

Completion late 2023
